About

Wellbeing in Education Wales is a community-based, information-sharing platform to aid evaluation of issues that impact the wellbeing of children in Wales, particularly in relation to their education.

Our particular focus at present is Westminster’s Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill (CWS Bill), with the Senedd due to vote on a Legislative Consent Motion (LCM) which seeks to apply key Children Not in School (CNIS) clauses to Wales.

We seek to evaluate issues relating to the Senedd considering asking Westminster to legislate over an important and devolved matter, alongside the problems and concerns raised with the content of the Bill itself.

We seek to engage with politicians in Wales for meaningful understanding of the impact of those measures, and for consideration whether they would be “efficient” — would they achieve what they set out to achieve, or would there be negative or counterproductive impacts?
